after living in the mainland for 7 years, i was dying to come across a place in hawaii that made "good", thin crust pizza, kinda like new york style. i've heard many good things about jj dolans in downtown honolulu. to my surprise, they do have GREAT pizza! this place is usually slammed at night and on the weekends. i got there as soon as they opened so no crowd and very attentive servers. i ordered a harp on tap, which was sooo tasty as we were walking around town and a little hot. we then ordered pepperoni pizza by the slice ($3.00) and a spinach, pepperoni, garlic, cheese white (no red sauce) pizza pie ($14.00). note: they only serve pepperoni and cheese pizza by the slice, everything else is by the pie. the pizza is cooked perfectly, not too crispy and not too doughy. Just enough cheese and sauce. still has the crunch and left overs can still be heated in the oven and not be overdone. the pepperoni could've used some paper towel dabbing. i ate 3 big ass slices of pizza! this place blows away them other pizza parlors! cheers!
